You probably care less about the quality and aesthetics of your shower hose than your faucet, shower head, or bathroom furniture. However, if you had a choice, wouldn't it be great if the hose stood the test of time and blended in nicely with your overall bathroom design? Or if it cascades nicely, with no kinks or twists? A shower hose that scratches or rubs against your skin while showering, bathing, or washing your hair is also undesirable. Or even one that releases plasticizers (phthalates).
Handy Shower Hose: How Long?
The length of your shower hose depends on several factors: Are you showering in the tub or shower? Do you sit or stand in the shower? are you tall Do you have a shower rod that allows your shower holder to slide over you? Is your shower hose hanging from a low bath or thermostatic shower mixer mounted high? Or is your water running directly off the wall (like in a concealed mount system)? When judging the length, you need to consider your bathroom setup.
Standard shower hose lengths are:
1.25m: the perfect size for the bathtub, so that the hose does not get in your way while you enjoy your bath.
1.60m: the perfect size for showers, as it enables people to move freely and enjoy a more pleasant shower.
2.00 m: enough freedom if you shower (standing) in the tub. This way, you can still enjoy the generous height of the shower even if the tap is installed low.
